Our Story

Nabo to Nabo started with a simple observation between friends: we live in a beautiful place, but we miss the spontaneous connections that turn a housing block into a real neighborhood. Instead of waiting for someone else to create that culture, we decided to do it ourselves.

We exist to turn good ideas into local action. Whether it’s a long-table dinner, a pop-up concert, or a creative workshop, our goal is to bring life to the streets of Ørestad Syd.

What We Do

We don’t just organize events; we create excuses for you to meet the people living right next door.

• Community Dinners (Fællesspisning): There is no better way to break the ice than breaking bread. We host regular dinners where the food is good and the company is even better.
• Culture & Creativity: From live DJ sets to art workshops, we bring cultural experiences right to your doorstep.
• Local Support: Have an idea for the neighborhood? We help facilitate and support local initiatives to make them a reality.

Our Mission

We believe that everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging where they live. By strengthening social ties and celebrating the diversity of our residents, we are bridging the gap between just “living here” and truly “being at home.”

Who It’s For

Our focus is local: everything we do is for the people who live in Ørestad Syd. While our individual events and activities may be tailored to different interests or age groups—one might appeal to families with young children, another to adults or curious seniors—the overall aim is to serve the whole neighborhood.

By offering a variety of experiences, we hope to reflect the rich diversity of Ørestad Syd and help create a stronger sense of connection across the entire community.

Background

The idea for NABO TO NABO was sparked by passionate conversations between friends about what Ørestad Syd could be. Instead of just talking about what was missing—city life, culture, local gathering spots—we started imagining how things could change.

We had already been part of events organized by like-minded neighbors, and it became clear that something bigger was possible. A community-driven organization could help bring people together, create synergy between initiatives, and build the kind of everyday culture that makes a place feel like home.

That’s how NABO TO NABO was born—and we’re still just as passionate about making Ørestad Syd a lively, welcoming neighborhood where people actually know each other.
